The official history of the geographic name Kinlock (which can be somewhat technical, we admit):
Kenloch (Sett.) was adopted in Place Names of PEI, 1925.Changed to Kinloch (NO T Kenloch NOR Kinlock) (Locality) 18 November 1966 on 11L/3h.Changed to Kinloc k (Locality) 26 January 1973 on 11L/3.Status confirmed as Locality when it bec ame part of the Community of Keppoch-Kinlock in 1983. Kinlock (Locality) became part of the Town of Stratford 1 April 1995. Confirmed 17 June 1996 on 11L/3. According to Geographical Names of PEI, 1973, "The name was probably brought to PEI by a Macdonald."
