The official history of the geographic name Parkdale (which can be somewhat technical, we admit):

Parkdale (Village) was adopted 6 November 1958 on 11L/8. Status changed to Town in 1973.Status changed to Locality when Parkdale became part of Charlottetown on 1 April 1995. Confirmed 17 June 1996 on 11 L/6.
