Peakes (Sett.) was adopted in Place Names of PEI, 1925.Changed to Peakes (Peak e Station P.O.)(Sta.) 3 December 1946 on 11L/7.Changed to Peakes (Peake Statio n P.O.)(Sett.) in 1960 Gazetteer.Name changed to Peakes (Sett.) 4 January 1967 on 11L/7.Post Office closed in September 1969.Status changed to Locality 23 October 1989 on 203-8. James Peake, shipowner, Charlottetown, 1826, owned land in this township. - PN o f PEI, 1925.
