The official history of the geographic name Spring Valley (which can be somewhat technical, we admit):

Spring Valley (P.O.) opened 1 August 1897 and closed 1 September 1913. Spring Valley (Sett.) was adopted in Place Names of PEI, 1925.Confirmed 2 August 1944 on 11L/12 at 46 31 -63 38.Coordinates adjustd to 46 30 - 63 38 in 1973 Gazetteer.Status changed to Locality when Spring Valley became part of the Community of Malpeque Bay in 1973.
