St. Eleanors (Village) was adopted in Place Names of PEI, 1925.Status changed to Sett. 2 August 1944 on 11L/5.Status changed to Hamlet in 1960 Gazet teer.Status changed to Locality when St. Eleanors became part of the Community of St. Eleanors in 1983.St. Eleanors (Locality) became part of the City of Su mmerside on 1 April 1995. Confirmed 17 June 1996 on 11L/5. Named after Eleanor Sanksey, housekeeper of Col. Harry Compton- PN of PEI, 192 5.
