History of the Name |
The official history of the geographic name Tyne Valley (which can be somewhat technical, we admit):
Tyne Valley (Village, P.O.) was adopted in Place Names of PEI, 1925. Tyne Valley (Village) was confirmed 2 August 1944 on 11L/12. Incorporated as a Village in 1 966.Status changed to Community in 1983 by the Municipalities Act. Named about 1874 by James Rogers. (PN of PEI, 1925)
