The official history of the geographic name North Wiltshire (which can be somewhat technical, we admit):
North Wiltshire (Sett.) was adopted in Place Names of PEI, 1925. Confirmed 12 December 1939 on 11L/6.Status changed to Station in 1960 Gazetteer.New Wiltshire (Hamlet) changed its name when North Wiltshire (Sett.) moved about 1/2 mile south from the railway line (no change in coordinates) 4 January 1967 on 11L/6. Status changed to Locality when North Wiltshire became part of the Community of North Wiltshire in 1974.Status confirmed 23 October 1989 on 203-8.
