York (Little York P.O.) (Sett.) was adopted in Place Names of PEI, 1925. Changed to York (Sta.) and Little York (Sett.) 12 Dec. 1939 on 11L/6, both at 46 19 - 63 06.Confirmed as York (Sta.) in 1960 Gazetteer.Name changed to dual name of York (Little York P.O.) (Sett.) 18 Nov. 1966 on 11L/6a.Status changed to locality when York (Little York P.O.) became part of the Community of York in 1986.
