Premier Robert Ghiz and Carolyn Bertram, Minister Responsible for Public Safety, were surrounded by Beavers, Cubs and Scouts during the launch of the Scouts Canada Emergency Preparedness Program on May 7, 2009. Premier Ghiz and Minister Bertram hosted the scouts at Province House to launch the program during National Emergency Preparedness Week. The new program is supported by Scouts Canada, the PEI Office of Public Safety and Public Safety Canada.
