Did You Know?

The Employee Assistance Program has been available to employees of Health, Education and the Public Service since 1990.  There is an Advisory Committee comprised of members of the various Unions and Management who over-see the program to ensure it meets the needs of employees.

Did you know.....

  • Approximately 75% of all referrals to Employee Assistance are self referrals.
  • While 75 to 80% of all new clients are females, male clients are increasing to as high as 25 to 40% in certain departments.
  • Approximately 70% of service requests are for individual counselling.
  • The top three presenting problems are anxiety, marital and family relationships and workplace stress/conflict.
  • A little over 50% of clients are married and a little over 20% of clients identify as single.
  • Counsellors are available for employees through satellite offices in Summerside, O’Leary and Montague as well as the main offices in Charlottetown.
