Distiguished Contribution Award Nomination
Colleagues say Victim Services is a stronger, better, and more meaningful service because of Jean Profit's 30 years of influence, commitment to client service and dedication to justice.
The Summerside Victim Services Worker has been honoured with the Distinguished Contribution Award for her years of dedication to Victims of Crime on Prince Edward Island.
Profit has worked in government since 1985, beginning at Child and Family Services, and has been with Victim Services for more than 20 years.
For many years Jean was the sole face of Victim Services in Summerside. She carried the entirety of cases in East and West Prince which required enormous professional and emotional investment.
Her workmates credit Profit’s style of practice for her significant and meaningful connections with her clients. She is authentic, honest, compassionate, understanding, and non-judgmental, they say.
Throughout her career, Jean led by example. Her name has become synonymous with the service and she leaves a steadfast legacy, her unique mark, and a high standard of practice.
If staff now question why things are done a certain way, inevitably, the answer is "That's how Jean did it."
L-R: Jean Profit, John Picketts and Michelle Dorsey.
