A stated goal in the current business plan of the Public Service Commission is to improve the capacity of the provincial civil service through employee and leadership development. On May 1, 2017 employees from the provincial civil service and Health PEI started a learning pathway to achieve this goal. The group met for the first time to launch the new Leaders in Action Program.

Participants are committed to building their management and leadership skills toward an engaged and modernized public service. Individuals of the Leaders in Action program will:

  • attend regular pre-scheduled learning sessions over an eighteen to twenty-four month period;
  • develop a personal learning plan and commit to independent learning;
  • benefit from a blend of formal and informal collaborative learning; and
  • participate actively in a corporate project that addresses current and emerging issues.

For more information on this program and other Pathways to Learning, contact Alaina Roach O’Keefe, Corporate HR Planning Consultant at or call (902) 368-4186.
