IPAC National Conference coming soon to Charlottetown

The Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC) will host its national conference in Charlottetown this summer from August 20-23 at the PEI Convention Centre.

The conference theme - Strong Foundations, Sustainable Futures—will explore the topics of sustainability, leadership and policy innovation.

Keynote speakers include:
  • Dominic Barton, chair, Finance Minister's Advisory Council on Economic Growth
  • Joshua Frame, national chair of the Federal Youth Network and chair of Future Leaders of Ontario
  • Senator Murray Sinclair, former chief commissioner of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission
  • Julian Stodd, founder of Sea Salt Learning, writer and consultant on the Social Age

Several provincial public service members have been instrumental in the behind the scenes work required to host a national conference. Executive Council Clerk Paul Ledwell is the honorary co-chair and Sharon Cameron is co-chair of the steering committee. Wendy MacDonald is the local chapter president and Janice Pettit is both the past president and PEI representative on the national IPAC board.

Interested in attending this year’s conference? Provincial government employees are encouraged to apply for assistance with registration costs through the union or excluded employee development funds.
