About the awardThe PEI Senior Islanders of the Year award was created to recognize and celebrate the many contributions of Island seniors. Each year in October, awards are presented to older adults who have made significant contributions to Island life in areas such as volunteerism, artistic achievement, community activities, education, professional achievement, fitness/recreation and other activities.
The deadline for nominations for 2016 awards is July 15, 2016. Nominations may be submitted throughout the year.

Nominations are assessed by the PEI Seniors' Secretariat.

To be eligible for this award nominees must be:

- a current resident of Prince Edward Island
- 65 years of age or older
- willing to be nominated and agree to participate in award promotions
