Senior Islanders celebrated on National Seniors Day

Five Island seniors have been honoured for their achievements and contributions on National Seniors Day with the Senior Islander of the Year Award.

A new Catastrophic Drug Program has launched to assist Islanders whose prescription drug costs are affecting their household’s ability to maintain life essentials.

Fighting the flu

The vaccination is free again this year for seniors age 65 and over, children aged 6 - 59 months, pregnant women and household contacts of pregnant women.

Islanders are encouraged to receive their flu shot as it is the most effective way to help prevent the spread of influenza.

The Province of Prince Edward Island has received international recognition for its province-wide implementation of the Period of PURPLE Crying®.The Period of PURPLE Crying® is a prevention program designed to educate parents and caregivers about the normal patterns of infant crying and respond safely.

Trade HERizons
The Province is investing $183,000 through the Canada-Prince Edward Island Labour Market Development Agreement and the Labour Market Agreement.

The Government of Prince Edward Island has renewed its support of the Trade HERizons project, an initiative to increase the number of women who are exposed to trade and technology career options.
