Adoption

Adoption is a fulfilling experience that changes the lives of everyone involved. Children of all ages are connected with safe and loving families who provide permanent and stable homes where they can enjoy healthy childhoods.

The Department of Community Services and Seniors is responsible for Prince Edward Island's adoption program under the Adoption Act and the Director of Child Protection is the designated central authority under the Intercountry Adoption (Hague Convention) Act. 

The Department can help birth parents who are considering placing their child for adoption. Information is also available for people who hope to adopt a child from Prince Edward Island or another province or country.
