Affordable Housing Development

Overview

Through the Canada-PEI Affordable Housing Agreement and the Canada Economic Action Plan, funding may be available to assist developers in constructing new, affordable rental housing for seniors, persons with disabilities and low to moderate income families.

The Canada-PEI Affordable Housing Agreement is intended to stimulate the development of affordable housing units across the province. 

Qualifications

Proposals under the affordable housing agreement must meet the following criteria:

• housing rents must be affordable for at least 10 years;
• units will be available only for low to moderate income Islanders.
