Bonshaw Hills Public Lands Committee

The Bonshaw Hills Public Lands Committee is comprised of government officials and non-government officials, who are volunteering their time and resources, with an extensive shared expertise in the areas of land use, conservation, recreation and environmental stewardship. The committee is tasked with developing a series of recommendations to protect land in the Bonshaw hills for the enjoyment of Islanders while also protecting ecologically important areas.

The committee will look at the five parcels of land totaling roughly 400 acres identified in the Environmental Assessment approval for the Trans-Canada highway realignment in Churchill, as well as other parcels acquired for the project and existing parcels of Crown land.

The committee's recommendations on the management and best future use of this land will be shared with Islanders for public input before being presented to government for consideration.
