Introducing the Minister

Honourable Robert  S. Vessey

Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal

Robert Vessey was first elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly in the provincial general election of 2007 in District 9, York-Oyster Bed representing the Liberal Party. He was re-elected in 2011.

In 2007, he was appointed Government House Leader and was chair of the Legislative Review Committee and the Legislative Management Committee. Additionally, he served as chair of the Committee on Committees; and a member of the Standing Committees on Agriculture, Environment, Energy and Forestry; Privileges, Rules and Private Bills; and Public Accounts. In January of 2010, he was appointed Minister of Tourism and Culture. In October of 2011, he began his tenure as Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal.

Mr. Vessey is a fifth generation potato farmer and a life-long resident of York. He and his wife Tracey have two children, Marc and Danica.
