On October 31 in Island history...

1910 Lennox Island's Michael Thomas, running for the Abegweit Amateur Athletic Association, comes from nowhere to win the Halifax Herald's 10-mile road race. The next year he is the favourite. He wins again. In 1912, he makes it three victories in a row before 35,000 spectators.
