1863 Eliza Jane MacFarlane is born at Carleton. She will study law in Colorado, move to California, and eventually become the first woman in North America ever to be named an assistant district attorney.

Replacing a failed septic disposal field can cost approximately $2000 plus the cost to repair landscaping. Maintaining the sewage disposal system by pumping the septic tank will cost approximately $80 to $100 every 3 to 5 years.
