On March 5 in Island history...

1879 Organized curling has been around in Canada since at least 1807, but it's still a novelty on PEI. This evening the Hillsborough Curling Club has what the Examiner describes as a "roarin' game" on the harbour ice opposite the Railway Depot in Charlottetown.
