On September 30 in Island history...

Oldtimer Donald McFadyen finishes third -- with a 10 shilling bonus for wearing the kilt. 1860 The Dundas Rum Riot. When a drunken crowd disrupts the trial of an unlicensed American rum-seller, a battle royal erupts between the local Sons of Temperance and the tipplers.
