 Factoid of the Day

The Confederation Centre of the Arts was opened in Charlottetown in 1964 and is home to the Charlottetown Festival and the musical Anne of Green Gables.

 Today in Island History

On October 4 in Island history...

1866 4 Oct Only two years after ferrying the Canadian delegates down to the Charlottetown Conference, the S.S. Queen Victoria is caught in a hurricane and sinks off Cape Hatteras. Only her ship's bell survives.
