Notice to Confederation Trail Users
Various sections of the Confederation Trail from Sherbrooke to Hackmatack Road in West Prince will be closed temporarily from Aug 28 until late November due to the installation of utility poles along the trail. Flaggers and signage will be in place along the trail to detour trail users around the sections under construction. Detours will also be setup at road and/or trail crossings so users will not have to back track along the Confederation Trail.
There's no better way to explore the natural beauty of Prince Edward Island than to
walk, hike or cycle along the trails
you'll find from tip to tip, tailor-made for outdoor adventure.
Discover the Confederation Trail, which boasts close to 300 km of groomed trails
that will take you through rolling farmlands and quaint villages, into wetland and hardwood groves, and provide you with
some of the most picturesque scenery on the Island. Or, find solitude and "walk through history" by exploring some of
the scenic heritage roads.
Learn about the natural history of PEI's woodlands while following the trails through the Island's six
demonstration woodlots and don't forget to check out the numerous
Community Trails across the Island, great for
birdwatching.
You can enjoy the wide variety of trails PEI has to offer on your own or hook up
with a guided walking tour. Happy Trails!
