Northumberland's convenient location near the Wood Islands
ferry terminal makes this a busy park. Many people choose to stay for a night or two at the beginning or end of their
visit to PEI. A new nature trail has been developed to offer visitors insight into the natural area of this park -- an
excellent introduction into the varied flora and fauna native to the Island. Cliff swallows burrowing nests along the
shore are of special interest.
Northumberland Provincial Park is on Route 4, 3 km east of the Wood Islands ferry.
It offers a lifeguarded ocean beach, clam digging, laundromat, hot showers (4), flush toilets (9), playground, kitchen
shelter, forest trail and dumping station. Campers' store nearby. Pets permitted on leash. Accommodations: 22(u); 28(2w);

Panmure Island features one of the most popular white sand beaches on PEI. The park provides life-guards
for its supervised swimming areas. The location along a causeway gives water access on both sides of the highway with
the sheltered St. Marys Bay on one side and an ocean beach on the other. The sand dunes on the ocean side provide a
secluded atmosphere with long stretches of shoreline and a vast view of the ocean makes Panmure Island a beach lover's
haven. Tours are offered at historic Panmure Island lighthouse.
The First Nations People hold an annual Pow Wow at Panmure Island. This spiritual/cultural event,
attracting visitors from Eastern Canada and the New England states, includes drum bands, native crafts and a
healing sweat tent.
On Route 347, north of Gaspereaux. Panmure Island offers a bay and ocean beach,

Located in the historic community of Eldon, Lord Selkirk Park is
infused with the Scottish atmosphere that prevails throughout the community. The park hosts many events with a Celtic
flavour and the view from the cliffs is captivating. The beach, while not suitable for swimming, is ideal for strolls.
Lord Selkirk offers many popular community facilities such as a swimming pool and miniature golf. The nine-hole Belfast
Highland Greens golf course, which opened in 1996, is an excellent addition to this park.
Lord Selkirk hosts a series of Friday night variety concerts which feature traditional music by local
artists and entertainers. Lord Selkirk also hosts the Annual Highland Games. Activities include dance competitions,
bagpipe and fiddle music, and sporting events such as caber toss, shot putt and log toss.
Off TransCanada Highway. 2 km east of Eldon. Bay beach, clam digging, walking trail,

Brudenell River is the largest provincial park in eastern Prince Edward Island. In addition to two (2)
18-hole championship golf courses, tennis, horseshoes and lawn bowling offered at the 100-unit Brudenell River Resort,
the park has a multitude of activities to amuse campers and day visitors: a marina, river beach, wildflower garden,
hiking trails as well as daily activities scheduled as part of Brudenell's recreation and interpretive programs for
children and adults. A naturalist is available to inform visitors and locals of the natural features of Prince Edward
Island. Private sector operators also provide canoeing, windsurfing, sea kayaking, horseback riding, ocean-view tours
and seal-watching cruises.
Brudenell is located in Roseneath, PEI, on Route 3, 5 km west of Georgetown, near
Cardigan. The campground has a kitchen shelter, hot showers (12), flush toilets (12), laundromat and dumping station.

With its beautiful beach and supervised swimming, Red Point campground is very popular with families.
There are often organized activities for children and special events for the whole family. Red Point is located
approximately 10 minutes from Souris where you will find gas, food, restaurants, hospital, hotels, exercise facilities,
liquor store, souvenir shops, tourist information centre and the terminal for the Magdalen Island ferry service. Red
Point is also the closest campground to the Rollo Bay Fiddle Festival grounds.

This secluded campground is located approximately 15 minutes outside the town of Souris, 2 km west of North
Lake Harbour and 11 km north of Basin Head Museum and Singing Sands Beach. Campbells Cove offers a picturesque view of
the ocean and the rugged coastline. This park has many return visitors who enjoy the laid-back environment.

The Island's first European visitor came ashore in 1534 in the vicinity of this provincial park, named for
the same French explorer, Jacques Cartier. He remarked that this was “the fairest land 'tis possible to see!” The park
holds a celebration of this great discovery every July at Rediscovery Day. Jacques Cartier Provincial Park offers a wide
range of activities for all ages. A full-time naturalist leads nature walks and children's games and there is supervised
swimming at the beautiful beach on the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

This park is located on beautiful Mill River 8 km Northeast of O'Leary. There are many activities in and
around the provincial park, including playground equipment and an activity centre as well as several fun, exciting and
educational programs. Rentals are available at the Mill River Marina. Rodd Mill River Resort, a four-star resort hotel,
and the prestigious Mill River Golf Course are located within the park. Private sector operators also provide bicycles,
sailboards and canoes.

Cedar Dunes Provincial Park is located along the scenic Lady Slipper Drive in the West Point area. Cedar
Dunes is famous for beautiful beaches that stretch for miles. The park provides supervised swimming as well as children's
activities. A staff naturalist provides guided nature walks.
While you are there, you can tour Canada's only functioning lighthouse in an inn. The West Point Lighthouse
also houses a museum displaying artifacts and photographs that document the history of Island lighthouses.
On Route 14, 24 km south of O'Leary. Supervised ocean beach, interpretive programs,

During the 19th century, shipbuilding was a major industry on Prince Edward Island. Green Park was the site
of an active shipyard. Visit the shipbuilding museum located at Green Park and the Yeo House representing the wealth of
a golden age of PEI when the shipyards drove the economy of the colony. The park provides playground equipment for
children, frisbee golf, nature trails, river front tenting sites and a river beach. It is one of the location sites for
the new television series Emily of New Moon.

This park, located on Bedeque Bay, is in close proximity to Summerside the recreational and cultural center
of Prince County. It is also close to Slemon Park which hosts several summer hockey schools. And Linkletter is the
provincial park located closest to the Confederation Bridge.

Cabot Beach is the largest park in western PEI. This beautiful park has a large day-use area with playground
equipment, an activity centre with children's programs and a naturalist on staff who provides guided nature walks. There
is also supervised swimming on scenic Malpeque Bay. It is one of the location sites for the new television series,
Emily of New Moon.

This park offers an excellent location near all the main attractions. Borden, Summerside and Cavendish are
all only a half-hour away and Charlottetown is a 20-minute drive from Strathgartney. Strathgartney has one of the most
beautiful scenic views of all the provincial parks with campsites located high on a hill overlooking the Strathgartney
River. At the park you can enjoy a walk on the nature trail, or play a round of frisbee golf.
On TransCanada Highway, 20 km west of Charlotte-town. Playground equipment, hot
