Message from the Minister
The protection of water is a fundamental responsibility of government, and modernizing water laws is an important step. Government has committed to the development of a Water Act, that will produce the legislative foundation for managing our water resources in a sustainable manner.
The Environmental Advisory Council has recently completed a series of public consultations to discover what Islanders want to see in a Water Act. The report is now available on-line. I encourage all Islanders to review this document and become involved in the next phase of the Water Act’s development.
Robert J. Mitchell
Minister of Communities, Land and Environment
