Statement from Office of Attorney General

Environment, Labour and Justice

On the morning of Friday, May 8, Charlottetown City Police retained a package that was addressed to the Supreme Court of Prince Edward Island. The package was specifically addressed to the Chief Judge of the Province and looked similar to those received at other courthouses across the country.

Other provincial and territorial courthouses that have reported receiving similar packages include New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Manitoba, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.

The package is now with Charlottetown City Police and there is no concern for public safety.
