The Queen’s 90th Birthday

Lieutenant Governor's Office

Their Honours the Honourable H. Frank Lewis and Mrs. Dorothy Lewis, extend their sincere congratulations to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of her 90th birthday.

Just yesterday, a new coin from the Royal Canadian Mint was unveiled by His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston. Also, a Loyal Address signed by the Governor General and all Lieutenant Governors and Territorial Commissioners, was designed by the Chancellery of Honours at Rideau Hall and forwarded on behalf of the vice regal family to Buckingham Palace for Her Majesty The Queen for this, her birthday.

His Honour is attending a commemorative luncheon hosted by the Royal Commonwealth Society of Prince Edward Island today. In his address, His Honour is announcing that he and Her Honour will host a special event in celebration of Her Majesty at Government House on May 24 for Islanders who also are celebrating their 90th birthday in 2016. More details will be made available in the near future about this special event and how attendees may request an invitation.

An on-line book of birthday wishes has also been established and Their Honours invite all Islanders to join them in celebrating the life of the Queen in Canada by adding your best wishes. Anyone may locate the book at www.gov.pe.ca/olg, www.gg.ca/QEII90 or #QEII90.
