Province pledges support for Inspire Learning Centre

Premier's Office

The Provincial Government is pleased to join public and private sector donors in support of the Rotary Club of Summerside’s Inspire Learning Centre.

Premier Wade MacLauchlan announced this morning during the official launch of the fundraising campaign that the province will contribute $300,000 towards the project.

“Our government is committed to supporting sustainable community-led ideas that will inspire entrepreneurialism, foster economic growth and build stronger communities,” said the Premier. “The provincial government is pleased to join business, community, individual and federal government efforts to support the development of the Inspire Learning Centre.”

“The Inspire Learning Centre will truly be the ‘library of tomorrow’ – uniting, engaging and inspiring our community. It will connect Islanders to information, opportunity and each other, while enriching life for everyone in the region,” said Stephen Cudmore, chairman of the fundraising committee. “On behalf of the Rotary and all supporters of this project, I want to thank the provincial government for its valuable contribution towards the centre.”

The Summerside Rotary Regional Library opened in 1989 and welcomes more than 72,000 visitors a year. The Inspire Learning Centre will replace the existing library with a modern facility to serve the entire community.
