ISLAND FOCUS To Celebrate Heritage

Provincial Treasury

ISLAND FOCUS has produced a special lineup for this week's program to celebrate and promote the week of Heritage Day. ISLAND FOCUS is the provincial government's community outreach television program featuring people, places and programs of Prince Edward Island.

The February 21st broadcast of ISLAND FOCUS will include features about the restored Farmer's Bank in South Rustico; Title Searching in the Registry Office and a visit to Orwell Corner Historic Village. The program will be hosted from Summerside, home of several heritage murals. Host Gerry Birt will interview Faye Pound of Wyatt Heritage Properties as well as Greg Derand, an artist who has painted several of the 10 murals in the city.

This week's lineup also includes a look back to the PEI Mutual Provincial Games held in West Prince earlier in February. Volunteer chairperson Kim Winters speaks about the logistics of hosting the games and Matthew Robinson of Montague talks about his enjoyment of the bowling competition.

ISLAND FOCUS airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on EastLink Community Television (Channel 10). Repeat broadcasts air Mondays at 7 p.m. Visit the ISLAND FOCUS website at www.gov.pe.ca/focus to monitor the weekly program guide, view segments on-line, enter weekly trivia contests and send feedback about the program.
