Island Focus Captures The Lorie Kane Island Challenge

This week, Island Focus centers its attention on golf with a retrospective of the Lorie Kane Island Challenge of August 2000.

The television feature will include footage of the event as well as interviews with Jack Kane, Ron MacNeill of Tourism PEI and spectators.

The May 30th broadcast of ISLAND FOCUS will also include segments on bicycle safety and the Cool Pedal Gang as well as a two part special on the Leave a Legacy program in Prince Edward Island. Host, Gerry Birt will speak with Brian Reid of Community & Cultural Affairs about barbeque safety and Parnell Trainor of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Environment about the summer schedule for "Out of the Sea and Over the Coals."

Island Focus is the provincial government's community outreach television program featuring people, places and programs of Prince Edward Island. ISLAND FOCUS airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on EastLink Community Television (Channel 10) with repeat broadcasts airing Mondays at 7 p.m. The program will broadcast weekly until June 20, 2001.
