Attorney General Jeff Lantz Acknowledges Gay and Lesbian Pride Week in PEI

Office of the Attorney General

July 7 to 15 marks Gay and Lesbian Pride Week in Prince Edward Island. The Honourable Jeffrey E. Lantz, Attorney General for the Province, asks Islanders to recognize equal rights and respect the dignity of individuals as they celebrate Gay and Lesbian Pride Week.

"As Minister Responsible for the Human Rights Commission, I would ask all Islanders to respect the diversity of community and our people," says Lantz. "I hope that Gay and Lesbian Pride Week encourages everyone to reflect on the principles of freedom, peace, equality and justice that form the basis of our society."

Gay and Lesbian Pride Week is an opportunity for Islanders to recognize the need to work toward a society in which all people can live together, equal in dignity and mutual respect, regardless of their sexual orientation.
