2002 Lineup of Island Focus To Begin January 9th - Viewers have the chance to win tickets to the Confederation Centre
On January 9th, the broadcast will include stories including Celebrating Volunteerism in PEI; Keeping Active in Island Schools; Protecting Yourself from Scams; and the Trail Watch program. Host Gerry Birt will be on location at École François-Buote to speak with Darlene Arsenault, principal and Donna White of the Community Mobilization Fund about crime prevention and community safety. This line-up was scheduled to be broadcast November 7th but due to an electrical storm was unavailable to EastLink subscribers.
The following week, January 16th, the program will focus on new year's resolutions with stories to include Choosing a Career in Health Care; Planning a Family Reunion; the Summer Language Bursary Program and Defining Discrimination in Island Classrooms.
The 2002 grand prize for Focus Trivia is four tickets to a 2002 Charlottetown Festival Mainstage production. The winner of the 2001 grand prize draw of a lift tickets to Brookvale Winter Activity Park is Mike Butler of Cornwall, PEI. Viewers of Island Focus are invited to submit trivia answers for the chance to win weekly prizes as well as the grand prize. The grand prize draw will take place April 26, 2002 and be announced during the season finale in May.
