Atlantic Technology Centre to Host Two Open Houses

Development and Technology

The Atlantic Technology Centre (ATC) will host two open houses in early May. The first, on May 2, will be open to business people in the province. That event will specifically target the many features that are available at the ATC to assist Island companies. The business event will take place from 1 to 3 p.m.

The second event is open to the general public. It will take place on May 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This open house will be a chance for people to see the features of this state-of-the-art building and to find out more about some of the businesses that call the ATC home.

"We're very proud of this facility," said the Honourable Mike Currie, Minister of Development and Technology. "I think business people will be impressed with what the ATC can offer them. And I know the general public has been curious to get inside and have a look around. This will be a chance for both groups to learn more about this state-of-the-art building."

On Friday, business people will be able to have a tour of the facilities that are available for rent. They include:

- a "smart" board room with video conferencing capabilities

- state-of-the-art training facilities

On Saturday, the general public will be able to get a look at some of the production facilities that make the ATC unique. They include:

- the Immersion Studio Interactive Theatre which will feature an interactive movie that allows viewers to participate in the show

- the sound stage where television shows can be produced

- animation facilities

Both events will offer guided tours, giveaways and refreshments.
