ISLAND FOCUS Season Finale to Air Monday Night

Provincial Treasury

The season finale of Island Focus will be broadcast Monday, May 12, at 7:30 p.m. on EastLink Television.

The program will be hosted from the Cardigan area. Host Gerry Birt will speak with Margaret Quinn, president of the Cardigan Craft Guild about the Cardigan Craft Centre and Tea Room and why the group opened this facility. Later in the program, Amiel Leblanc of Ruckus Percussion will tell us how and why he began his business making various types of handcrafted drums. The grand prize trivia winner of a handcrafted Ashiko drum will also be announced.

The finale of Island Focus will include segments on the Royal Bank Cup, the PEI Address Locator and how Islanders are being encouraged to return home as a result of the Summerside Connection Program. In addition, we'll learn how tourism operators are making sure they provide quality drinking water to visitors.

Island Focus features the people, places and programs of Prince Edward Island and is produced by Multimedia Services of the Information Services Division of the Provincial Treasury. Repeat broadcasts will air on EastLink Television throughout the summer on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. Segments can also be viewed online at www.gov.pe.ca/focus. For more information, please contact (902) 368-6322 or send a message to focus@gov.pe.ca.

Island Focus will begin a new season on EastLink Television in October.
