Minister Congratulates Island TV Producers

Development and Technology

Development and Technology Minister Mike Currie today offered his congratulations to two Island companies which have received Gemini Award nominations.

Cellar Door Productions received a nomination in the Best Animated Program or Special category for their animated program, Doodlez. The company is located at the Atlantic Technology Centre (ATC) and produced the cartoon in conjunction with the animation house, Trapeze Media, also located in the ATC.

Copie Zero, based in Charlottetown and Montreal, received two nominations for the Amanda Marshall CTV music special: Everybody's Got a Story. The special was nominated in two categories: best variety show and best director of photography.

"It is great to see that television programs produced by Prince Edward Islanders can compete with the very best this country has to offer," said Minister Currie. "I offer these companies my sincere congratulations and wish them the very best of luck."

The award presentations will take place October 18 - 20.
