Corrections Exemplary Service Medals

His Honour Lieutenant Governor J. Léonce Bernard and Attorney General Mildred Dover today recognized 11 individuals for exemplary service with the provincial and federal correctional systems in Prince Edward Island.

Two members of the Correctional Service of Canada, eight provincial employees of Community and Correctional Services and one employee of the John Howard Society were honoured with Corrections Exemplary Service Medals.

“Each of the individuals recognized today has set an example through professional dedication and service to the people of Prince Edward Island,” said Attorney General Dover. “Corrections is a challenging career and it is my pleasure to congratulate each of the medal recipients on their dedication and commitment to correctional services.”

The Corrections Exemplary Service Medal is handed out on behalf of the Governor General of Canada to individuals working in corrections who have reached a long-service milestone in their career and who have performed their work duties at a level beyond which is expected.

Recipients of the Corrections Exemplary Service Medal are: Kevin Arsenault, William Barry, Louis O. Burke, Mike Hamill, Donna Hartley, Frank Lavandier, Ivan Richard, Brian Smith, Ron Taylor, John Nicholson and Barry Thompson.
