15 Island Students to Represent PEI at the National Heritage Fair in Saskatoon, July 11-18

Community and Cultural Affairs

Fifteen Island students from schools across the province will represent Prince Edward Island at the National Heritage Fair in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, July 11-18, 2005. Participants were selected based on the provincial heritage fair results in May.

Community and Cultural Affairs Minister Elmer MacFadyen expressed his pleasure with the high quality of student work which will be showcased at the National fair. “Participants in the National Heritage Fair have earned this opportunity to represent Prince Edward Island through hard work and creativity. Each of these students have demonstrated their appreciation and understanding of the unique and important history of PEI and of Canada,” said Minister MacFadyen. “I would like to wish the Island delegation well. As ambassadors of Prince Edward Island they will proudly share our heritage.”

The National Heritage Fair is an annual event which brings together students from across Canada to share their experience and culture. The fair is the culmination of a series of fairs at the school and provincial level in all provinces and territories.
