Eastern Kings on Lieutenant Governor's List

The eastern portion of Prince Edward Island is on the Lieutenant Governor’s list for his third summer heritage tour slated for Monday and Tuesday, August 8 and 9.

On Monday, August 8, Their Honours will visit two sites in the Mount Stewart area, the Hillsborough River Eco-Centre and the Allisary Creek Trail followed by a stop at the Greenwich Interpretive Centre in Greenwich.

The Matthew and MacLean display by Boyde Beck at the Souris Visitor Centre will be the first visit on Tuesday morning followed by the Basin Head Fisheries Museum, the History Room in Kingsboro, the Elmira Railway Museum and East Point Lighthouse. The afternoon will include a visit to Whitlock’s Pond and Doc’s Marsh in the Dundas/Forest Hills area of Kings County.

“We received a warm welcome at all our stops on the first two heritage tours and we both are looking forward to visiting eastern Kings and learning more about that part of our beautiful Island,” said Lieutenant Governor Bernard.

The fourth and last tour will take place August 22 and 23.
