Inaugural event showcases one of the game’s most historic rivalries while helping to promote cholesterol awareness among Canadians.

The province of Prince Edward Island is anxiously awaiting the arrival of golf legends Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson next week for the inaugural Making the Connection Legends of Golf as the pair of World Golf Hall of Famers renew their rivalry at one of Canada’s most spectacular golf settings.

Also in attendance at the event, taking place June 19 and 20 at PEI’s renowned Dundarave Golf Course at The Rodd Brudenell River Resort, will be Making the Connection celebrity spokespeople Pat Quinn, Sandra Post, Gaétan Boucher and Rod Black helping to spread the program’s ‘heart healthy’ lifestyle message leading up to the third annual Cholesterol Awareness Day on June 22.

“PEI is known around the world for its award-winning golf courses and everybody is anxious to welcome two of the very best players the game has ever seen to play here,” said PEI native and LPGA Tour player Lorie Kane, who will serve as an on-course reporter for the television broadcast of the event. “It is such a rare opportunity to see these two great golfers play in person, but this event will also give us the special opportunity to hear them talk about their incredible careers and their memorable battles on the golf course.”

The two golf legends will land in Prince Edward Island on the morning of Monday, June 19 before taking to the golf course for a Pro-Am at 12:30 p.m. On Tuesday morning, the two will tee-off at 10 a.m. in the featured match at Dundarave.

Tickets for the Making the Connection Legends of Golf are on sale now through Ticketweb. Tickets are priced at $90 (plus tax) for the two-day event. For more details on purchasing tickets, please visit www.legendsofgolfpei.com

The event is also an important way to remind Canadians that physical activity, including golf, along with following a healthy diet and maintaining a healthy weight, is an important part of managing cholesterol levels and heart-healthy living.

High cholesterol is one of the most common conditions affecting Canadians, and Making the Connection is a program dedicated to the ongoing education about the health risks of high cholesterol and to encouraging Canadians to take action to control high cholesterol in order to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke.

The Making the Connection spokespeople will be at the program’s event expo area both days for media interviews and to pass the message along to fans attending the event.
