Support Local Heart and Stroke Foundation Simply by Parking Your Car

Tourism

Organizers of next week’s Making the Connection, Legends of Golf event announced today that spectator parking will be available in assigned areas for a modest $5-per-day fee, all of which will be donated to the local Heart and Stoke Foundation. Due to limited space and anticipated traffic volumes, parking will be organized in a nearby field and spectators shuttled to the event on an ongoing basis.

The event sponsor reminds the public that physical activity, including golf, the activity that everyone will be interested in on June 19 and 20, along with following a healthy diet, is an important part of managing cholesterol levels and maintaining a heart-healthy weight. Locally, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Prince Edward Island was offered the opportunity to organize the parking venue and levy a nominal fee. Charlotte Comrie, Executive Director, Heart and Stoke Foundation of PEI comments, “Not only will this approach to parking allow for a smoother start to the day by easing any confusion around parking, but all monies raised will go toward building capacity in our local research community. With heart disease and stroke still the primary cause of death and a major cause of disability in PEI, every dollar raised brings us that much closer to finding answers... for life... through research.”

Tickets to the golf event can be purchased on-site, through TicketWeb online at ticketweb.com or by phone 1-888-222-6608. Further details available about the event can be found on the website www.legendsofgolfpei.com.
