PEI Lotteries Commission Supports ALC’s Measures To Strengthen Its Players Protection and Verification Procedures

Provincial Treasury

The Honourable Mitch Murphy, Minister Responsible for the PEI Lotteries Commission, said today that the Commission will continue to monitor the implementation of Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC) procedures to strengthen player protection and verification procedures.

“I am pleased that the ALC has completed both an internal and external review of its policies related to retail locations and prize claims,” said Minister Murphy. “It has enacted a series of measures already and is in the process of implementing several others.”

He added that he supports the recently announced review of the ALC policies and procedures by the Nova Scotia Department of Environment and Labour as another step in ensuring the outcome of a Best Practices model for player confidence and system integrity.
