Mr. James Ramsay, Tax Commissioner for Prince Edward Island, was recently awarded the title of Honorary Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI, Hon) during the Institute’s 70th annual general meeting and conference held in St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador.

The Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) is the national organization of professional real estate appraisers. Mr. Ramsay was one of only ten people across the country nominated for, and given, the prestigious new membership category of Honorary AACI. This title is intended to identify individuals who are ethically above reproach, and publicly recognized as leaders in business, law, academia, and other professions who contribute to the Institute's advancement of the profile, respect, body of knowledge, and advocacy of the valuation profession.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to see Jim get this much-deserved recognition,” said Provincial Treasurer Wes Sheridan. “Over the course of his career, he has demonstrated, time after time, that he more than meets the criteria necessary for receiving such acknowledgment. He is a true leader; one who works very hard on behalf of the people of this Province.”
