The Links at Crowbush Cove and Dundarave golf courses both received 4.5 out of five star rating by the Golf Digest’s 2008-2009 edition of “Best Places to Play.” This year’s edition rated nearly 6,000 courses in North America and the Islands. The courses were evaluated by approximately 20,000 Golf Digest readers on a five-point scale.

Golf Digest Readers rated the courses based on overall experience, service, value and pace of play. The overall experience scores were averaged, then compiled on a bell curve to reflect a course’s relative strength, then assigned a rating.

“This is a significant honor considering that there are only 27 Canadian golf courses with a 4.5 star rating and Prince Edward Island has earned two spots among them,” said Valerie Docherty, Minister of Tourism. “In light of global competition and increasing expenses, this honor is a reflection of the first-class product and services Prince Edward Island continues to offer to golfers.”

Brudenell and Mill River provincial golf courses received four star ratings in the 2008-2009 edition of Golf Digest’s “Best Places to Play.”

The star rating breakdown is as follows:

1 Star ... Basic golf

2 Star ... Good, but not great

3 Star ... Very good. Tell a friend. Worth getting off highway to play.

4 Star ... Outstanding. Plan your next vacation around it.

5 Star ... Superb. Golf at its absolute best. Pay any price to play at least once in your life.
