“On behalf of the provincial government, I am pleased to congratulate the Brett Gallant rink for bringing the World silver medal home,” said Premier Ghiz. “You earned your place in the standings due to your skill, dedication, discipline and both mental and physical fitness, and I know your success will inspire young curlers throughout our province.”
“I want to commend Brett, Adam, Anson, Jamie and Stephen for a championship well played and for their silver medal standing against the best junior curlers in the world,” said Minister Bertram. “You were great ambassadors for our province and our country. I know I speak for all Islanders when I say how proud we are of your achievements.”
The Brett Gallant Rink consists of Gallant as Skip; Adam Casey, Third; Anson Carmody, Second; Jamie Danbrook, Lead; and is coached by Peter Gallant. The team, who were joined by Stephen Burgess of Fredericton as Fifth, represented Canada in the World Junior Curling Championships March 5 - 15 in Vancouver.
