Three PEI Courses Make Canadian Golf Magazine’s Best Public Courses Ranking

Tourism

The recent praise awarded to three Island golf courses by SCOREGolf Magazine is a significant achievement, says Minister of Tourism Valerie E. Docherty.

“Our focus is to build awareness and interest in Prince Edward Island as a premiere golf destination,” said Minister Docherty. “SCOREGolf Magazine’s decision to recognize three Island courses as some of the best in Atlantic Canada will only help contribute to our Island’s reputation as a highly competitive golf destination.”

SCOREGolf Magazine, the largest circulated golf publication in Canada, features the best public golf courses in Canada in their 2009 August-September issue. The Links at Crowbush Cove, Dundrave and Brudenell River golf courses were among the courses ranked in the publication.

In the Atlantic region, The Links at Crowbush Cove listed at number three, Dundarave at number four and Brudenell River at number nine.

In addition, Rodd Crowbush Golf & Beach Resort was recognized as the best resort, while The Canadian Golf Academy was awarded the “best place to get better.”

The rankings are tabulated by the same individuals that compile the Top 100 List for SCOREGolf Magazine. The panelists are requested to rank golf courses based on an extensive list of questions on each course including everything from beauty, strategy, design and condition of the course. These questions are completed by the panel and an online system automatically tallies the rankings.
