New Tyne Valley Health Centre Celebrates Grand Opening

Health

Significant progress is being made in the provision of health care services in Tyne Valley, Premier Robert Ghiz and Health Minister Doug Currie announced today during a celebration to mark the grand opening of the new Tyne Valley Health Centre.

"This is an exciting time for the staff and administration of the new Tyne Valley Health Centre," said Premier Ghiz. "Our government is committed to making improvements to the Island healthcare system and this new health centre provides appropriate space for physicians and nurses to work together with other healthcare professionals."

The new facility, which has been operating since April of this year, replaces the previous medical centre in Tyne Valley. The new health centre includes two physician offices, two multipurpose offices, four exam rooms, two conference rooms, and a reception and waiting area.

"The new Tyne Valley Health Centre allows for the integration of health care professionals and services in one location such as nursing, public health nursing, mental health and nutritional services," said Health Minister Doug Currie. "This new facility ensures that the residents of Tyne Valley have improved access to enhanced community-based services and programs."
