Mentoring program begins for Summerside businesses

Innovation and Advanced Learning

A soon-to-be launched mentorship program for Summerside businesses is inviting more mentors to take part, says Innovation and Advanced Learning Minister Allan Campbell.

The Business Mentoring Program is being offered by the Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce through funding from Innovation PEI.

“This mentoring program will help new businesspeople in Summerside learn from well-established members of the Island business community,” said Minister Campbell. “As Government works to foster a strong economic climate across the province, this program’s mentors will help create the next generation of business leaders in the Summerside region by generously sharing their expertise.”

The program aims to give new businesspeople the opportunity to develop skills and learn strategies to help them build their businesses from mentors. For mentors, participating in the program offers a rewarding experience and a chance to reflect on the approaches to business that have helped them to succeed.

“The Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce is very excited having the opportunity to offer this program to the entrepreneurs in the Summerside area,” said John MacDonald, Executive Director of the Chamber. “We understand the value of having this bright talent in the area and by building knowledge and fostering learning they will have a very successful business.”
