Students who developed their skills in trades and technology at Island high schools and Holland College will be taking part in an upcoming national competition, says Innovation and Advanced Learning Minister Allan Campbell.

“I would like to congratulate all of the students who competed in the provincial Skills Canada competition,” said Minister Campbell. “Government is committed to fostering a highly skilled Island workforce, and it is exciting to see young Islanders who are committed to developing their skills in trades and technology.”

The provincial competition saw 215 students from 10 Island high schools and Holland College take part in events held across Prince Edward Island through February and March. Of the 95 medal-winners, 42 will continue on to the nationals in Quebec City from June 1 to 4.

Skills Canada-PEI is a registered charity and is funded in part by the Department of Innovation and Advanced Learning.
