New addition brings 20 jobs to the Island’s IT sector

The opening of Accreon Inc in Charlottetown will add 20 jobs to the expanding group of Information Technology (IT) companies calling Prince Edward Island their home, says Innovation and Advanced Learning Minister Allan Campbell.

“Accreon is a growing company with a spirit for innovation and entrepreneurship,” said Minister Campbell. The IT industry has grown significantly in the past number of years and I am happy to announce that this expansion will create many new positions for skilled IT workers in Prince Edward Island.”

Accreon provides software development, maintenance, customization and implementation for large organizations. The company is presently working with a number of businesses regarding e-health development. Its expansion to Prince Edward Island will produce 20 new developer positions with an average salary of $60,000.

Accreon took part in the labour rebate program delivered by the Department of Innovation and Advanced Learning and Innovation PEI. Under the terms of the program, the company will receive funding based on the number of employees hired over the next two years. The provincial government contribution to the expansion is approximately $500,000.
