Province congratulates Island company on expansion to New Brunswick

Innovation and Advanced Learning

A Prince Edward Island based language school is expanding its language-training services to New Brunswick says Innovation and Advanced Learning Minister Allan Campbell.

“Study Abroad Canada Language Institute (SACLI) is a valuable partner with government in delivering English-language training to newcomers to Prince Edward Island, eliminating language barriers so the new residents can enjoy living, learning and working in Prince Edward Island,” said Minister Campbell.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank SACLI for supporting the language needs of newcomers to Prince Edward Island and congratulate the school on their expansion to our neighbour province.”

Through the expansion of its language services, SACLI will become the first private accredited language school in New Brunswick. The strategic partnership with New Brunswick will provide quality English as a Second Language (ESL) training to students at the SACLI Moncton Branch.

“It is very exciting to start marketing a new SACLI campus in New Brunswick – we will now be able to offer opportunities where students can study for a period of time in Charlottetown or Moncton or a combination,” said Helen Green, Vice President, Marketing for SACLI.

SACLI is a Prince Edward Island company offering a wide range of language training programs and friendly, safe home placements for international students. Since its establishment in 1995, SACLI has taught thousands of students from 70 countries.

“In 2009 79 per cent of immigrants to Prince Edward Island were from Asia. Having immigrated to Prince Edward Island herself, SACLI co-owner Sherry Huang has a unique understanding of the needs of our Island newcomers,” said Minister Campbell. “It is wonderful to see SACLI expand these valuable services to our neighbour provinces to help even more Canadian newcomers to learn valuable language skills.”

SACLI has been a leading private ESL institution in Prince Edward Island and is the Prince Edward Island’s only accredited member of Languages Canada, a national association of language training providers. SACLI also operates the only TESL Canada recognized ESL teacher training program in Prince Edward Island.

Recently SACLI was the first private training school recognized by the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC) and Canada’s federal department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT), with the Imagine Education au/in Canada brand recognizing the school for providing consistently high quality education programs, dealing with international students in accordance with recognized codes of practice and using quality assurance mechanisms that monitor adherence to set standards.
