Premier congratulates growing IT company at open house

The surge in hiring at Accreon is an indicator of the IT industry’s success in creating opportunities for talented Islanders, says Premier Robert Ghiz.
“It’s a privilege to mark Accreon’s move into a new space and be witness to this company’s success in making a place for itself on Prince Edward Island,” said Premier Ghiz.
“Information Technology is one of the strategic sectors identified under the Island Prosperity as having great potential of creating economic growth and opportunity for Islanders. I’m very happy to see Accreon and other IT companies establish themselves as contributors to our Island economy.”
Accreon, an IT Business Solutions Provider, was founded in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and has offices in Manchester, New Hampshire. The company expanded to premises on Prince Edward Island in the summer of 2011 and boasts over 100 employees.
“We opened our Island office with the intent of leveraging the talented IT workforce to develop products and provide services for the North American e-health market. With a target of hiring 20 Island employees, we have recently hired two more IT professionals, bringing our PEI staff complement to six in the first few months,” said Neil Russon, Accreon’s CEO of Global Solutions and Services. “Since coming to Prince Edward Island, we’ve been very impressed with the pool of IT resources and with the support government has put behind our expansion on the Island.”
The province of Prince Edward Island has supported Accreon’s expansion to the Island with labour rebates to be paid out depending on the number of jobs created and maintained by the company.
